Along the trail between the Mediterranean to the Larzac plateau lies the Domaine du Pas de L’Escalette. It’s a dreamscape type place. Limestone rich rocks line organically farmed north facing vineyards of Grenache, Carignan and Syrah that are surrounded by brush forest and craggy hills.
The winery is committed to letting the land speak loudest, and the aforementioned limestone and intersection of climates produce wines that have spice, tannin and fruit arranged in such a way that it soothes the soul. Perfectly enjoyable now but increasingly rewarding for those that can hold off.
